In addition to the residences, the resort property-which opened in November-includes 59 hotel suites, four distinct dining spots, a 3,000-square-foot fitness center and yoga studio, a kids’ club, Auberge Spa and flexible event space, including an outdoor patio and an event lawn. “The result is a design that exudes earthy and raw simplicity, celebrating the essence of this picturesque beachfront community,” Duesing said. To honor the rich history and culture of the area, the design team collaborated with local artisans to incorporate elements such as neutral textiles, rough-hewn stones (including locally sourced black canteras), sun-bleached driftwood and a selection of woods. That meant incorporating lush greens of the surrounding jungle and the blue of the bay. “We aimed to blend contemporary sophistication with the tropical allure of the region,” Duesing said. The design approach for the villa was inspired by the surrounding Nayarit coast, said its Dallas-based designer, Paul Duesing.
